Skating rink on the Eiffel Tower will be opened in the middle of December

Nobody can imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower long ago. It’s not only the main symbol of France and its capital. Moreover, this one of the most famous architectural structures of the world has popular restaurants, cafes, shops, museums; what makes it more interesting for tourists.

Since 2006 the skating rink is open every winter at the first floor of the Eiffel tower. It opens before the Christmas holidays. Fortunately, the repair of the tower, scheduled for the beginning of January 2012, will not affect the plans of the organizers of this entertainment.

Giant Ferris Wheel is coming back to Paris

One of the world’s largest mobile Ferris wheels will appear again on Champs Elysees near Place de la Concorde in Paris in November.

Why mobile and why again? Firstly this 60-meter Ferris Wheel was built in the French capital on the eve of the millennium, and it had to be demolish in January 2000.

However, Roue De Paris was so popular that it had been decided to leave it for one more year.

Reconstruction of Eiffel Tower

Paris authorities announced the reconstruction of Eiffel Tower that will begin in January 2012 and be held without closing the object for the tourists. This information was recently given by representatives of the Paris City Hall.

Works will continue until the middle of 2014, so they didn’t consider a possibility of closure, in principle. Authorities could not close, perhaps, the major sight of Paris and all France.

Last year, however, Eiffel Tower lost the title of the main tourist attraction to Louvre.

Game Story – the 40th anniversary of video games

Exhibition “Game Story’, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of video games, has being prepared for the opening in Grand Palais. Organizers of the event plan to take thousands of visitors from France and other countries.

From November 10 to January 10 the guests will see the evolution of the computer games – from the first monochrome arcades to modern, realistic playing 3D universes, wonder how quickly PCs and consoles have developed, hear the first primitive melodies what were heard in the games, and modern symphonies, accompanying the missions. The organizers collected alive “ancient” game consoles and computers in the exhibition hall thereto.

The second birth of the Museum d’Orsay

The director of Musee d’Orsay Guy Cogeval calls its reconstruction the second birth. He says that now this unique Parisian collection of impressionists and post- impressionists will have absolutely new face.

But when Mr. Cogeval took up its position, nobody had believed in possibility of fairly radical changes of the building of the museum, especially taking into account its historical status. And as a result we can see many changes in Musee d’Orsay, made for its 25th anniversary.
